You left your homeland seeking a place where he could make your way and, ultimately, be judged for the content of your character (and the strength of your muscles) instead of the ugliness of your face. You hired on as a caravan guard for a caravan heading east from Jaggarth across the Aynayjor Mountains and into the Far Coast after stopping to trade with the dwarves of the mountains. During the trip, shunned by the other guards and made fun of behind your back, you used your massive strength to pull a wagon out of a small rockslide into which it had been engulfed. Later, in a tavern in the Far Coast, you got into a fistfight with three rakes who were drunk and couldn't help but torment you mercilessly. An experienced brawler, you laid all three of the men low, though you took a good beating yourself.
The caravan master, named Bet'horet,
had noted both events, the removal of the rockslide and your defeating
three men in a fight, and determined that you would be a great
addition to House Riverine. As the caravan completed the final
leg of its journey, Bet'horet explained to you that he would recommend
you to the Lord of the House Riverine outpost in Dwillingir if
you desired to take service with the house. Giving your assent,
since you were in need of employment and wanted to find some place
that you fit in, you were taken into the guildhouse and rested
with the other guards in the barracks of the house. A short time
later, Bet'horet emerged into the barracks and announced that
he had arranged for you to meet with the House Master Barnabus.
